Stop Predicting the Next Apple Announcement Date…It’s Getting Old

September 21, 2011

So, the next big prediction has come from AllThingsD stating that Apple will reveal the next iPhone on October 4th. All the tech blogs are reporting the exact same thing. AllThingsD has previously been adamant about the announcement and release of iPhone taking place in October.

Ever since the beginning of this summer people have been going on and on about possible dates in July then August then September for the iPhone media event. Some analyst makes a stupid prediction of a data based on a “source familiar with the matter” that comes and goes with no announcement. STOP IT!

I don’t mind predicting features of the iPhone, whether the name will be iPhone 4s or iPhone 5, or the possibility of iOS 5 features that we have not seen yet but Apple is not going to hold the media event or release the device until it’s ready.

Apple will send out media invitations to the event somewhere around a week beforehand and then we will have an exact date of the announcement. Until then, shut up about it.
